Center for Community Innovation

Launched in 2025 through a partnership with The McElhattan Foundation, The Center for Community Innovation was established to strengthen the capacity of local non-profits in Venango and Clarion Counties. The center is staffed by two community grant writers – one serving Clarion County and one serving Venango County – as well as a community partnership manager.

This initiative supports non-profits in identifying, applying for, managing, and reporting on grant opportunities. By providing these services, United Way helps local organizations access funding they may not have otherwise qualified for or pursued. By doing so, the Center is creating a ripple effect that enhances services and outcomes for the individuals they serve, contributing to stronger communities in both counties.

United Way is actively forming twelve to fifteen key partnerships with local non-profit organizations. Services are tailored to each agency’s unique needs and structured to remain accessible and within their budgets. In addition to grant research, writing and management, the Center also offers:

  • Grant training workshops
  • Advanced data tracking and reporting assistance

Together, these services aim to build stronger, more sustainable non-profits and a more resilient and thriving community.
