Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
The VITA Program provides low and moderate income individuals with free, reliable and trusted assistance in filing their federal tax returns. Individuals can qualify based on their income level, age, disabilities, and more.
The program is available for Titusville Area residents, Venango County residents, and surrounding areas. VITA sites are managed by the IRS, but operated by local, trusted, IRS-certified partners who want to make a difference in their communities. VITA volunteers are highly trained and must pass a tax-law training program that meets or exceeds the IRS standards.
United Way has been offering the VITA program since 2009, in which time, over 4,000 individuals have benefited from the service.
Appointments open annually in January and are made on a first-come first-served basis.
