United Way’s Little Layers Drive Collects over 2,500 items for Local Students!
Venango/Titusville, PA – United Way of the Venango and Titusville Region is thrilled to announce the success of their Little Layers Sock and Underwear Drive, which collected 2,557 pairs of socks and undergarments for local students in need.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of residents, businesses, and community partners, these items will be distributed to School Care Closets across Venango County and the Titusville Region. The donations help ensure students have access to basic necessities that support their comfort and confidence at school.
“This Drive was a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when we work together,” said Christy Logsdon, Mission Support Specialist. “Every pair of socks and other donated items represents a child who can feel more comfortable, cared for, and ready to learn.”
This drive ran from August 1 through August 20, and collected items like NEW socks, underwear/undergarments, sweatpants or joggers, and leggings. United Way wants to thank Iron Furnace Coffee, The Merc, Perk Up Café, and Warner’s Bakery for agreeing to be drop-off locations. They also want to thank Walmart for allowing them to hold a collection day outside their locations in Cranberry and Titusville.
United Way extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, donated, or helped spread the word.
