Success by 6 is a six-week pre-kindergarten program, running from June through July, designed to prepare Venango County students for the upcoming school year. The program is designed to prepare students for the upcoming school year, who may have not attended a traditional pre-school program.
Hosted at the child’s respective school, the program provides transportation to and from the classroom, along with complimentary breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Children are preselected by school administrators during kindergarten registration, and parents are contacted to determine if they are interested in having their child attend.
Success by 6 is fully funded by United Way, making participation free for all families. Other program highlights include:
- In-classroom learning within the child’s school district
- Taught by certified teachers
- Transportation and meals are provided
- Student/Teacher ratio: 10/1
- Follows a standard kindergarten curriculum
On average, participating students show an increase of 30% on pre and post-test scores.
