The Dolly Parton Imagination Library provides complimentary, age-appropriate books to children from birth through age five on a monthly basis. These books are delivered directly to the child’s home, providing an interactive and educational activity for children and caregivers. The program is free for families, with no income guidelines, and is available for children in Venango and Forest Counties and the Titusville Region.
The program was introduced to Venango and Forest Counties in 2014 and to Titusville Region in 2021. Most recently, there are over 1,800 children enrolled in the Library and over 125,000 books that have been mailed out to our local communities.
Although the program is free for families, it costs United Way roughly $30 a year per child. This funding is made possible through individual donors, multiple grants, and special events. Special Events specifically supporting the Imagination Library include The Twelve Days of Giveaways and The Guest Bartender Event.
We would like to give a special thanks to the Northwest Hospital Foundation, who in 2021, partnered with United Way to fund all children born at UPMC Northwest for their first year enrolled in the program. Other Major Sponsors of the program include PNC Charitable Trusts and the County of Venango.
Parents and legal guardians can register their children by using the online registration tool to the right.
