Career Counselor - Venango ReadyUnited Way’s Career Counselors have been active in our local school districts since 2019. What started out as a pilot program with three school districts has grown into a partnership with five different districts and three employees.

This position works with students in grades seven through twelve in their schools to facilitate the transition of students from school to community. They do this by implementing an individual plan to support the student’s career path.

Career Counselors help students with employment and college applications, resume building, scholarship information, and more. They help students identify a career path that aligns with their interests and then help them create a process to achieve their goals.

The counselors also work directly with school guidance counselors and administrators to determine other areas where they can provide assistance. This sometimes includes helping students with career artifacts or ensuring that they are meeting all requirements to graduate.

Currently, United Way is providing five school districts with a Career Counselor.

These schools include:

  • Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District
  • Forest Area School District
  • North Clarion Area School District
  • Oil City Area School District
  • Titusville Area School District
